Yogi’s story, We got Yogi back in early May our team was crossing a bridge during a foot patrol when someone spotted a man carrying a sack with a puppy head sticking out. We stopped and questioned what he was doing with the puppy he replied…
that he was tossing him off the bridge because the dog was sick and could not take care of him. A quick decision was made to take the puppy with us as we left with one last question for the local was how old is the puppy and he responded he was born about 4 weeks ago. From when we got him back to camp we set him down and he took off running and playing like an excited puppy set free. Watching him run I noticed he ran sideways like a bear and put the name Yogi up for vote, it won. Yogi since then has grown bigger and bigger each day and is still as happy as can be. He is smart and learns quick normal household tricks which always gives us smile being that most of us on the team own dogs. The team wasn’t sure what was going to happen with Yogi when we left now that he has become “westernized”. With recent events in the loss of one of our teammates and a good friend of mine who I would watch get up at 6am and play with Yogi I felt like he should come back to the States, so I talked with my wife and being the dog lover she is no was not even an option. It’s not necessarily going to be my dog but the team’s, all the guys are telling me they cant wait to see him grow since he has been a part of our life since May. Thank you.
