You SHOULD ONLY have the rights you’re willing to fight for. Lucky for US we have the Marines willing to fight for all of US to protect our rights.

An Iraq war veteran from Rockland County is seeking to adopt her one-time military partner, Rex, a 10-year-old canine. In September 2006, they both survived a detonated explosion outside of Ramadi, Iraq.
Megan Leavey’s initial requests were denied because Rex was still active but recently, he was diagnosed with facial palsy, a nerve paralysis and can no longer function on the battlefield. Since her first attempts she has experienced a surge of support and on Tuesday, Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., launched a nationwide online petition asking the Air Force to approve Leavey’s submission:

I served one combat tour in Kandahar Afghanistan from December 2001 to July 2002 and another combat tour in Mosul Iraq from May 2003 to March 2004. Although I was able to come home with all my body parts attached, many of my fellow brothers and sisters in arms were not as fortunate. Others, like myself, have developed emotional injuries, such as PTSD, anxiety, or depression. After serving this great country honorably, I could never imagine any wounded Veteran (physically or psychologically) having to pay for their own injuries suffered in combat.
You will never hear me boast about my service in the Army or try to glorify my time in combat in order to seek any form of benefit. While I was on active duty, I never asked for special treatment nor did I ask for something as simple as a military discount at participating retailers. With that being said, there is one thing I feel is never too much to ask for- having the Government cover Veteran’s medical costs from injuries sustained in combat, FOR LIFE!
I mistakenly voted for Obama in 2008 because I honestly believed he supported the Troops. He ran on an antiwar platform and vowed to give Veterans the best health care for our injuries. I have some very good friends in my life who still support the President. Now I question all Obama supporters who claim to support the troops as well. Can you still support Obama after hearing what he wants to do to wounded Veteran’s health care? I think it has become apparent now more than ever, you can’t support both. Another vote for Obama is a vote against the troops.
Now I understand this provision was dropped from the President’s 2009 Health Care Plan but for the Administration to even brain storm the idea of such a plan is unbelievable and down right disgusting and offensive to all Veterans. They should post a sign at all US ports and boarders that reads, “Welcome to America, where your Health will be cared for as follows, illegal immigrants = free, Wounded Veterans = I hope you have a job!”
obama’s promises to the Military mean nothing. But, his promises to wealfare-lifers and illegals you can take to the bank! =P
